Policy cookies

1.- BACKGROUND

In accordance with Spanish regulations governing the use of cookies in relation to the provision of electronic communications services, as set out in Article 22.2 of Law 34/2002 of 11 July on information society services and electronic commerce, we inform you about the cookies used on the PANAL FLOTANTE SLU website and the purpose of their use.

2.- WHAT ARE COOKIES?

A cookie is a file that is downloaded to your computer when you access certain web pages. Cookies allow a website, among other things, to store and retrieve information about a user’s browsing habits or their device and, depending on the information they contain and the way you use your device, they may be used to recognise the user. Cookies are associated only with an anonymous user and their computer or device and do not provide references that make it possible to identify your personal data.

3.- TYPES OF COOKIES

3.1.- Depending on the entity that manages them

a.- First-party cookies: These are cookies sent to the user’s terminal device from a device or domain managed by the publisher itself, from which the service requested by the user is provided.

b.- Third-party cookies: These are cookies sent to the user’s terminal device from a device or domain that is not managed by the publisher, but by another entity that processes the data obtained through the cookies.

3.2.- Depending on their purpose

There are many purposes for using cookies. Depending on the purpose for which the data obtained through cookies are processed, some of the purposes may be:

  1. a) Technical cookies: These are cookies that allow the user to browse through a website, platform or application and use the different options or services available therein, including those used by the publisher to enable the management and operation of the website and to activate its functions and services, such as, for example, controlling traffic and data communication, identifying the session, accessing restricted areas, remembering the items in an order, completing the purchase process, managing payment, controlling fraud linked to service security, submitting a registration or participation request for an event, counting visits for billing purposes for software licences with which the service operates (website, platform or application), using security elements during browsing, storing content for video or audio distribution, enabling dynamic content (for example, loading animation of text or an image) or sharing content through social networks.

Technical cookies will be exempt from compliance with the obligations set out in Article 22.2 of the LSSI when they allow the service requested by the user to be provided, as is the case with the cookies listed in the previous paragraphs. However, if these cookies are also used for non-exempt purposes (for example, for behavioural advertising purposes), they will be subject to those obligations.

  1. b) Preference or personalisation cookies: These are cookies that allow information to be remembered so that the user accesses the service with certain characteristics that may differentiate their experience from that of other users, such as, for example, the language, the number of results to be displayed when the user performs a search, the appearance or content of the service depending on the type of browser through which the user accesses the service or the region from which they access the service, etc.

If it is the user who chooses these characteristics (for example, if they select the language of a website by clicking the icon of the corresponding country flag), the cookies will be exempt from the obligations of Article 22.2 of the LSSI, as they are considered a service expressly requested by the user, provided that the cookies are used exclusively for the selected purpose.

  1. c) Analytics or measurement cookies: These are cookies that allow the party responsible for them to monitor and analyse the behaviour of users of the websites to which they are linked, including quantifying the impact of advertisements. The information collected through this type of cookie is used to measure the activity of websites, applications or platforms, in order to introduce improvements based on the analysis of usage data by users of the service.
  2. d) Behavioural advertising cookies: These are cookies that store information about users’ behaviour obtained through the continuous observation of their browsing habits, which makes it possible to develop a specific profile to display advertising based on it.

3.3.- Depending on how long they remain active

  1. a) Session cookies: These are designed to collect and store data while the user accesses a website. They are usually used to store information that is only of interest to keep for providing the service requested by the user on a single occasion (for example, a list of purchased products) and they disappear when the session ends.
  2. b) Persistent cookies: These are cookies in which the data remain stored on the device and can be accessed and processed for a period defined by the party responsible for the cookie, which may range from a few minutes to several years.
